Federal ministers of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Dr. Farooq
Sattar, Babar Ghauri and state minister Dr Naeem have tendered their
resignations to Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Tuesday.
On the other hand, fourteen MQM provincial ministers have sent their
resignations to the acting governor of Sindh Nisar Ahmed Khuro.
The ministers and advisers submitted their resignations in the
chamber of MQM’s parliamentary leader in Sindh Assembly, Syed Sardar
Ahmed.
It is expected that members of Pakistan Muslim League-Q would join the vacant ministries of MQM minister at the federal level.
Prime Minister would send these resignations to President Asif Ali Zardari for approval.
Ministries of PML-Q’s ministers are also included in transferred
ministries to provinces in the final phase under the 18th amendment of
the constitution that is why it is expected that the ministries left by
the.
Talking to a private TV channel, Dr Farooq Sattar said that the
government is giving them dictation and now that they are in the
opposition, they would pursue the government to solve the problems of
the people.
He added that the MQM in the past was a coalition partner in the
Federal and Sindh governments, but they were never treated like
coalition partners.
Dr. Sattar said that in the past three years, they were never
consulted on key decisions and the MQM could no longer work on
dictation.
While talking to media, MQM leader Raza Haroon said that the
decision to split from the coalition government is firm and that the
ministers have resigned in protest, adding that dictatorship cannot be
tolerated any more.
Haroon thanked the MQM leadership and Raabta Committee for the
ministry responsibilities given to him and he thanked MQM chief Altaf
Hussain for trusting in the abilities of the resigned members. SANA
