Pakistan to take action against Hafiz Saeed if India provides workable evidence: Rehman Malik

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Rehman Malik has said Pakistan can take action against Hafiz Muhammad Saeed chief of Jamat ul Dawat if India provides practicable evidence against him.

Interior minister said this while talking to Indian journalists here Tuesday. He held law does not run on the basis of statements but it runs on the basis of evidence.
If India provides any workable evidence against Hafiz Muhammad Saeed then we can arrest him, he stated. Pakistan had arrested Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi allegedly involved in Mumbai attacks, he added. Action would also be initiated against other suspected persons like Major Iqbal for their alleged involvement in Mumbai attacks if India furnishes more evidence against them.
“I have sent a collection of questions to Indian government with reference to Major Iqbal but no reply has been received from Indian side so far”, he told.
The trials of 5 suspected Pakistanis arrested in Mumbai incident are pending as evidence against them are being collected, he pointed out. All the arrested persons tried to be bailed out but their bail pleas have been cancelled, he added. Online
