Islamabad: The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Tuesday adjourned hearing
into a plea against Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif filed by the
National Accountability Bureau (NAB), seeking custody of Sharif‘s
assets, till next month, media reported.
NAB prosecutor general
prayed to the court that the department wanted custody of Sharif‘s
assets until it reached the root of the matter which led to a deal after
which the Sharif family left the country following military coup of
Musharraf.
Deputy Attorney General KK Agha told the court that
Sharif family left the country after handing over their assets to the
NAB as part of a deal.
The Chief Justice remarked how come
assets could be taken into custody without filing a reference in the
court. He sought a reply from the federation regarding the details of
the deal and put off the hearing till third week of January. Online
