Lack of playgrounds hampers healthy activities

ISLAMABAD: Lack of playgrounds in the federal capital is hampering healthy activities of the youngsters, parents say. Parents have demanded of the higher authorities to build sufficient playgrounds in different parts of the city.

Talking to Online here on Tuesday, the residents of Islamabad said that due to non-availability of playgrounds the youngsters are compelled to play in small streets and on roads, which could be dangerous.
The big playgrounds in federal capital have been handed over to clubs for sports, under the master plan and the youngsters have to pay heavy entry fees to play in these grounds.
The residents said that lack of extra curricular activities in educational institutions is aggravating their problems.
The parents said that lack of playgrounds are causing spread of negative activities in youngsters so the authorities concerned should build sufficient playgrounds in different areas of federal capital. Online
