Rehman Malik seeks chained madrassa students report

KARACHI: Interior Minister Rehman Malik Tuesday ordered Inspector General Police Sindh to submit a report about the children who had been ‘chained‘ in a Karachi madrassa.

Police said they have recovered up to 50 students, chained to their feet, from a seminary, late Monday night.
The interior minister has also issued directives for convening a meeting of Wafaq-ul-Madaris to review policies.
Malik asked IG Sindh to submit investigative report as well as take exemplary action against human rights‘ violators.
Meanwhile, Interior Secretary has decided to convene a high-level meeting of Wafaq-ul-Madaris.
MQM‘s Coordination Committee has called upon government to immediately take notice of the tragic incident whereby kids were being held captive chained to their feet in a basement of a madrasa in Sohrab Goath area and whilst being trained to carry out terror activities.
The committee called for never-witnessed punishments for elements involved in this henious crime.
