LAHORE: The PML-Q parliamentary leader in the Punjab Assembly,
Chaudhry Zahir ud Din Khan Tuesday criticized the Punjab government for
not holding the local bodies elections.
“Those who strangled
local bodies system will never return to power. Some other government
will hold local bodies elections in Punjab”, he said while talking to
media men in the premises of Punjab Assembly.
He regretted that
the treasury benches are using sacred house to destroy third
constitutional administrative system through ugly legislation. “We will
voice protest against it inside the assembly and thousands of councilors
will come out on the roads to record protest”, he held.
Democracy
and dictatorship were name of attitude, he said. Handing over charge of
local bodies to government inducted administrators was what type of the
democracy, he questioned.
