Schools for girls to be set up in all UCs: Babak

PESHAWAR: Minister for Elementary and Secondary Education, Sardar Hussain Babak has said that all those union councils of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa which have no girls’ middle and high school would soon get one middle and high school each for girls.

He said this while speaking as a chief guest at ‘Stori da Pakhtunkhwa’ programme held here on Thursday at the Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education, says a press statement.
The Minister on this occasion, distributed cheques of scholarship among 10 top position holders of government schools in the annual examination of matriculation (Arts), 10 top position holders matric science, 10 top position holders in intermediate (Science) and 10 top position holders in Intermediate (Arts).
The position holders in SSC examination would get rupees10,000/- per month for two years if they continue their studies. The position holders in higher secondary examination would get rupees 15,000/- per month for two years if they also continue their education.
Addressing the ceremony, the Minister congratulated the distinction holders, their parents and their teachers saying that it was a matter of immense pleasure that “our children, particularly our daughters were taking keen interest in acquiring the light of education. And the position holder girl students from tribal areas like Mohmand Agency carried a message to the entire world that we wanted education”, he elaborated.
On this occasion, he appealed the world community to get the message and help grant scholarships to the students for acquiring education in the universities of developed countries.
He also called for establishing educational institutions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa adding that people possessed rich brains and they wanted to acquire education if they were given opportunities of education. He also appealed the affluent class of the Province to make investment in establishing educational institutions in the province. He said we were facing very serious threat from the agents of darkness who were bent upon destroying the educational institutions as well as killing innocent children. Babak said that no human being or a Muslim could even think of killing the innocent kids. He said that all should unite and frustrate the nefarious designs of terrorist with the light of education.
Babak said that his government was doing its bit and has established a chain of educational institutions, which no other government in the history of the Province has ever done. He also announced on this occasion that teachers of position holder students would be sent on foreign trips.
Secretary Education Mushtaq Jadoon, Director School Sarwat Jehan, Chairman Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Prof. Dr. Mohammad Shafi Afridi, MPA Arbab Atifur Rehman and a large number of students, their teachers and parents were also present on this occasion. Online
