JSQM leader, 25 suspects arrested in Karachi

Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (JSQM) Chairman Bashir Khan Qureshi was detained by the Rangers during a search and raid operation in Karachi, meanwhile police has arrested 25 suspected persons including many target killers here on Thursday from various parts of the city.

According to Rangers’ sources Qureshi was taken into custody along with his guards from the Gulshan-e-Hadid area, adding that two kalashnikovs were also seized from their possession.
The raid was part of an ongoing operation in Karachi to restore peace and arrest those behind target killings in the city. Members of JSQM have been arrested several times before in various cases. Rangers’ have confirmed the arrest of Bashir Qureshi.
On other side JSQM has announced shutter down strike today (Friday) in all over the province against the arrest of the party leader.
Meanwhile 25 alleged target killers among suspects have been arrested in Karachi by police during a search operation in Liaqatabad while an alleged target killer was taken into custody from Saudabad.
The police reportedly raided Naseer Square, arresting half a dozen suspects and recovering weapons from them. Authorities say investigations are still being conducted.
In another incident, Saudabad police arrested an alleged target killer, Zafar alias Andha.
Sub-inspector Shah Faisal told the media that police obtained a Kalashnikov from Zafar’s possession. Zafar has confessed to committing several murders.
The entire area was cordoned off by barricades and no one was allowed to leave till the search operation had ended.

According to details, Clifton Town Police arrested four alleged target killers after a brief encounter with the miscreants in Upper Gizri.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Tariq Dharejo, two 7MM rifles, five pistols and a repeater were recovered from custody of the saboteurs.
According to police sources, the alleged target killers confessed eight killings.
Sindh Police’s Crime Investigation Department (CID) claimed arresting four suspected men, an alleged target killer among them, during a search operation in Pak Colony area, adding that heavy cache of arms and ammunitions were also seized from possession of arrested criminals.
Target killer, identified as Sohail Ali, confessed to killing four political activists during preliminary interrogation. Police said they have lodged an FIR against the outlaws and further investigations are underway.
Two miscreants were arrested from Landhi area of 36-D. Police recovered heavy cache of arms on identification by the miscreants.
Also, three saboteurs along with their weapons were arrested from Alfalah after an encounter. Meantime, Gadap and Khawja Ajmer Nagri Police arrested two drug dealers and seized firearms and drugs from their custody. SANA
