President, PM call for tolerance, vow to bring perpetrators of violence to justice

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani have urged the nation to promote affection, tolerance, patience and brotherhood for making a society according to the principles of Islam and have vowed to apprehend the perpetrators of violence and bring them to justice.
In his message, to the nation on the occasion of Eid ,President Zardari said that Islam imparts the teachings to avoid terrorism, sectarianism and prejudices.
He said that Eid is the gift of Ramazan form Almighty Allah . It is the day to thank God on his countless blessings, which is only possible if we transform our lives according to teachings of Islam.
“On this blissful juncture , we must remember the segment of the society which is not able to celebrate Eid due to the lack of resources . We must remember the affectees of last year devastating floods and this year rainfalls. We as a Muslim should support the oppressed people by all means so that they would be included in the happiness of Eid.
He said that the PPP had made efforts to convey the fruits of democracy to the people right from the first day. In this regard government took several constitutional steps including implementation of political reforms in FATA during the holy month pf Ramazan , which is best gift of Eid for people living there due to which they would get an opportunity to come into political mainstream which would open the doors of development of the neglected FATA.
President prayed All Mighty Allah to bestow Pakistan progress , prosperity and peace.
Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani in his message said While we are celebrating this festival with traditional fervor, it is our national and Islamic duty that we also include underprivileged and disadvantaged sections of our society in our happiness. The scourges of terrorism and extremism have posed serious problems to our state and society.
“The killing of innocent people is contrary to the spirit of Islamic teachings and the message of Eid-ul-Fitr. The government is determined to apprehend the perpetrators of violence and bring them to justice. I would make an appeal to the people of Karachi to cooperate with the provincial government in its efforts to restore peace in the city. With the support of people, peace and normalcy will be restored in the metropolis”, PM said.
“Let us vow on this blessed occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr that we will leave no stone unturned to make Pakistan a hub of peace and progress and eliminate terrorism from our land by forging unity in our ranks by inculcating the spirit of unity, faith and disciple as espoused by Quaid-e-Azam”, he said.
