HYDERABAD: Former Sindh minister Dr Zulfiqar Mirza on Tuesday has announced his decision to quit politics.
Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, he said innocent people were being massacred in Karachi, adding nobody is safe.
Mirza said that Hyderabad was like a lap of mother for him. Senior Minister said that he was currently passing through the most crucial phase of his life.
He said that he had worked in armed forces for four years but General Zia ul Haq sacked him for not casting vote in referendum.
“I am retiring from politics, he said, but added some people are hell-bound to revoke his basic membership of Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP).
“I have never decided to run away from Pakistan or go into hiding,” he added. To a question, Mirza said he had got the permit to install his sugar mill with the help of Asif Ali Zardari.
Former Sindh Senior Minister Zulfiqar Mirza has said that all the courageous youth of Sindh should strengthen his hand.
He said that he had left politics, adding that her wife Fehmida Mirza was better politician than him.
He said he would continue his work for his homeland, besides adding that he was passing through the most difficult period of his life today but he was ready to sacrifice his life for President Asif Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
