KARACHI: Terming Zulfiqar Mirza an anti-Pakistan and sick minded person, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) said his allegations against Altaf Hussain are ‘shameful and ridiculous’.
Addressing a press conference at Nine Zero on Tuesday, Faisal Sabazwari rejected the charges of Zulfiqar Mirza that Altaf Hussain backed the dismemberment of Pakistan.
MQM leader Faisal Sabzwari said his party deliberated seriously on Mirza’s allegations for two days and decided that it was necessary to present real facts before the nation.
He termed as “ridiculous” the accusations that MQM was involved in any plan to break Pakistan.
The foundation of MQM was laid down by the offspring of Pakistan’s founders, he added.
He said Zulfiqar Mirza has tried to kill many birds with one arrow. Altaf Hussain, he said, considers Pakhtuns as his brothers.
The MQM leader accusing Mirza of making attempts to instigate ethnic riots between Urdu speaking people and Balochs.
“It is a fact that there was no fight among mohajirs and Balochs before the appointment of Mirza as Home Minister,” he commented.
He said all the charges leveled against MQM leadership indicate the sick mind of Zulfiqar Mirza. He denied all the charges leveled against the MQM leadership and said that his party was ready to face the charges in court.
He said it was not the first time that Zulfiqar Mirza has resorted to such charges. He said Mirza himself said he wanted to dismember Pakistan and he said this publically. How come such a person was transformed in a matter of no time into a patriot?
Zulfiqar Mirza tried to mislead the people by his false charges. He alleged Mirza fueled ethnic violence. MQM was not against any ethnicity and MQM valued the honour and life of Pashstoons and other ethnicities.
He said there are many Pashtoons who are the part of the MQM. MQM also held a rally of Pashtoons in Karachi. There was no conflict between Baloch and Mohajirs before Zulfiqar Mirza’s assuming his office in the Sindh cabinet. But Mirza has fueled the gang war.
He alleged Mirza was behind killings and kidnapping and he ganged up the criminal elements, Sabazwari allged. He mentioned Mirza’s earlier statements in which he threatened the Mohajir community.
He said Zulfiqar Mirza was trying to influence the Supreme Court proceedings through false charges. He offered the Mirza should go to the court along with his so-called evidence and MQM was ready to face the court.
He also said law enforcement should continue its action in Karachi.
He said MQM respected the president and hope he would foiled the efforts of people like Zulfiqar Mirza.
Sabzwari further said that 500 workers of MQM were martyred during the term of Zulfiqar Mirza. Online
