Check posts planned at Sindh-Balochistan border: Rehman Malik

KARACHI: Interior Minister Rehman Malik has said that the government would set up security check posts for maintenance of peace and rule of law.

Presiding over a meeting of the National Crisis Management Cell with regard to restoration of peace in the mega city on Saturday, Rehman Malik said the surgical operation would continue until the city is purged of insurgents and miscreants.
The interior minister said the law enforcement agencies have been directed to launch operation against land mafia. IG Sindh, senior officials of the coastguards, FC also attended the meeting.
The interior minister directed setting up check posts by FC, coast guards and Rangers, and a joint patrolling by these agencies in the border area of the two provinces. The check posts would also serve to curb incidents of smuggling and terrorism, the interior minister held. He was of the view that the ongoing operation against the criminal elements was based on the intelligence sharing by these agencies. The targeted operation in the city would continue until the complete restoration of peace in the city, he said. Online
