LAHORE: At least two children were crushed to death when a garbage truck fell on their donkey cart.
According
to the media reports, the driver of the truck escaped from the accident
site on Bandd Road, Lahore. Four children were reported trapped under
the truck, out of them the bodies of two have been recovered. Police
and rescue organisations rushed to the sites while Edhi charity draped
the bodies of the ill-fated children in white sheets marked with the
organization’s logos.
The residents said it has become a
routine for the containers and luggage to be transported in an unsafe
way. They also complained of over speeding by motorists on the road
that houses terminals of transport companies.
Eye-witnesses said the accident took place when a tyre of the tractor burst. The injured were shifted to hospital for treatment. Online
