Parliamentary body invites suggestions from members regarding Pak-US defense cooperation

Parliamentary Committee on National Security asks for suggestions from its members regarding Pak-US defense cooperation, which would be sent to prime minister.

The committee meeting has been summoned on 12th August for the briefing over Pak-US defense cooperation; meanwhile Interior Minister Rehman Malik would present his explanation before the committee regarding his controversial statement about Raiwind Tableghi Markaz.
Secretary defense would inform the committee regarding the details of bilateral military relations and recent US demands on war against terrorism.
Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee Senator Mian Raza Rabbani would chair the meeting held in parliament house on 12th August.
The committee is of the view that the cooperation with US should be based on written form and there should be some limits for cooperation with the US.
The foreign ministry would also present recommendations about struck off written defense agreements with US, meanwhile the foreign office had already presented their views regarding this issue to the committee.
Meanwhile the committee would review bills regarding the anti-terrorism act and the establishment of anti-terrorism authority.
The committee would also review that; weather the committee had authority to give recommendations regarding the bills for law making.
The committee would inform prime minister with its recommendation to reconsider the defense cooperation with US. SANA
