KARACHI: Muslims on Saturday observed a holy night which falls
between Ramazan 26 and 27, in the city with religious fervour and
respect.
The faithful stayed awake for prolonged prayer, avoided routine sleep to seek Almighty’s blessing throughout the night.
The
faithful also attended various religious gatherings, special prayers
and also offered fateha and laid flowers on the graves of their
loved-ones.
Programmes of Khatam-e-Quran (completion of the
recitation of holy Quran in Taraveh prayers) were also organised in the
mosques after the Namaz-e-Isha.
The prayer-leaders (Imams) in some of the major mosques also led Namaz-e-Salat-ut-Tasbih, offered in midnight.
Mahafil-e-Shabina
also commenced at different mosques in the metropolis including Memon
Masjid, Arambagh Masjid, Kanz-ul-Iman Masjid, Faizan-e-Madina Masjid,
Tooba Masjid and the mosque named after Maulana Ehtisham-ul-Haq Thanvi,
which will continue till announcement of sighting of the Shawwal moon.
Police
and Rangers personnel were also deployed at major mosques and
Imambargahs to ensure protection of life and property of the masses.
Special
prayers were held to bring prosperity, development and peace in the
country, particularly in Karachi as well as for promotion of unity and
