KARACHI: Several people were arrested when Rangers’ personnel
cordoned off Lyari and carried out a grand search operation against
miscreants in the locality while five persons were killed in firing
incident in Nayabad area on early Sunday.
According to details, Rangers and FC’s officials conducted a joint targeted operation in different parts of Lyari.
The
areas included Khadda Market, Usmanabad, Baghdadi and others where
security forces had placed a strict cordon, blocking all the entry and
exit points.
In Nayabad, on the other hand, at least five
people were shot and injured amid gun attacks by unknown outlaws,
police sources said.
Later, they were rushed to local hospital where all were said to be in stable condition.
Area people came out on streets and staged protest against operation.
Many people have been reportedly taken under arrest but official confirmation has yet to be received in this connection. Online
