KPK govt for separate electricity quotas for AJK, FATA

PESHAWAR: The Provincial government OF Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa (KPK) has referred to federal government for detaching FATA and AJK from PESCO (Peshawar electric supply Co).

This request has been put forth, considering the law and order situation and unscheduled load shedding crisis, underlying the reason that federal government should allocate separate quota for FATA and AJK regions, as electricity shared from KPK quota reduced it’s demand, causing unscheduled loadshedding.
The KPK government also contends that bills from KPK were timely paid, while these were not being paid in time and full due to massive line-losses and other reasons.
Peshawar High Court was already reviewing a case in this connection, it was informed. Online
