PM Gilani wants practicable strategy for Afghan crisis

ISLAMABAD: PM, Yousaf Raza Gilani has stressed on a strong practicable strategy for Afghan crisis, ensuring that it should not endeavor to destabilize Pakistan in any context.

Talking to the visiting Polish foreign minister, Radoslow Sivoski, who called upon him at the PM secretariat, he said that Stability in Afghanistan would definitely stabilize Pakistan, politically and economically as well
“ Such a blueprint of Afghanistan’s future, ushering in regional stability was quite indispensable”, he stressed.
PM, Yousaf Raza Gilani also expressed his deep disappointment at the fact that Pakistan had failed to get deserving and sufficient support from global community in its war against terrorism and sufferings of precious lives and assets: and which was “in Pakistan’s own interest, and Nation vows to uproot the menace from its soil”, he affirmed.
He said that if global community fulfilled its pledged economic assistance, and military aid to combat terrorism, Pakistan could tackle this menace more effectively than before.
The PM also lauded Pak-USA strategic relationship as being on sound footing, especially in aspects of intelligence sharing, but expressed his regrets that in search of ‘high-value targets’, Pakistan was not taken into confidence, and it’s share amounted to mere plethora of allegations, which damaged relationship credibility, requiring immediate rectification.
Gilani also expressed Pakistan’s eagerness over the forthcoming Pak-EU conference, aimed at enhancing Pak-EU relationship, and also hoped that Poland would also assist Pakistan’s access to GSP Plus and Pakistan’s endeavors to access European markets.
Speaking on the occasion, the Polish FM, assured of full cooperation to Pakistan regarding GSP plus and resulting 5-year plans,
He said that Pakistan was an important ally and Poland fully comprehended its problems and ground realities in connection with it’s war against terrorism.
