MQM decides to re-join govt

The Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) has once again decided to re-join the government here on Monday.

According to a private TV channel the decision was made after discussions between MQM Chief Altaf Hussain and Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani.
Sources said that MQM will first become a part of the AJK government and Salim Butt would take oath as minister in AJK cabinet today (Tuesday); meanwhile in 2nd in second phase in Sindh government and at the third phase in federal government.
According to the sources Prime Minister Gilani has telephonic conversation with Altaf Hussain five times in last five days and made him agree to re-join the government.
Meanwhile the Rabita Committee of the MQM would take final decision regarding the re-joining of government soon.
According to the MQM it has decided to re-join the government for the elimination of discrimination in rural and urban masses.
On June 26, MQM had decided to part ways with the Pakistan People’s Party and sit on opposition benches in the National Assembly, Senate and Sindh Assembly in protest against the postponement of election on two Karachi seats of the Azad Jamu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly.
According to the sources, the contacts between MQM and the PPP are increasing and Dr Ishrat-ul-Ibad Khan is playing major role in this regard.
The sources further said that MQM’s dialogue with the government has entered in the final phase regarding rejoining of the government and PPP’s leaders Nine Zero visits were also meant for this. SANA
