Capital police sacrificed 42 lives in war against terror: Rehman Malik

ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik has said that provincial governments are responsible for maintaining law and order in their provinces.

He was talking to the journalists outside the Parliament House . He said that Lashkar-e-Jhangvi is the terrorist outfit which is involved in the sabotage activities and the arrested culprits belonged it. “All the arrangements have been made to restore peace in Karachi and in this regard additional contingents of police and rangers were deployed there. However the government would take more strict action regarding peace in the city. Karachi is the prime vein of the country and it should be made victim of dirty politics.
He asked the political parties to keep a close eye on anti social elements and drug mafia, which are maligning these parties. Actually some culprits factors have took shelter under the umbrella of political parties.
“The matter regarding two moons sighting pertains to Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interior Ministry has nothing to do with it. However government would respect the decision of the Islamic scholars”, he added.
Latter while speaking on the occasion of second birthday of Islamabad Traffic Police’s Radio Station, FM.-92.4, Rehman Malik said that the capital police rendered lot of sacrifices in the war against terrorism as its 42 officials embraced martyrdom.
He said Islamabad Police played an important role in providing protection to the citizens of the city. He said FM- 92.4 is a very famous radio station which not only broadcast entrainment programmes but also imparts traffic education to the people as well. He instructed IG Islamabad Bin Yamin Khan to start a programme from FM-92.4 in which citizen may get restarted their complaints, which sould be monitored by an officer of SP level. Online
