An Anti Terrorist Court (ATC) of Rawalpindi has acquitted 34 accused who were included into the FIR later in Anjum Aqeel escape case.
The Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) heard the Anjum Aqeel escape case on
Wednesday and sought challan against 32 others including Anjum Aqeel on
the next date of hearing.
The court dismissed the case against 34 people whose names were included by police in the case at the later stage.
The officer investigating the case against leader of Pakistan Muslim
League-Nawaz (PML-N) MNA Anjum Aqeel again failed to submit the challan
in court.
Anjum Aqeel and 66 others accused appeared in the court of Malik Akram Awan and due to a lack of evidence, the court acquitted 34 accused who allegedly helped the MNA escape from police custody last month.
It is worth mentioning here that MNA was arrested on July 15 in a land fraud case and he escaped from custody outside the Shalimar police station with the help of supporters. Subsequently, the court adjourned further hearing of the case till August 30. Online
