Pakistan Naval Ship “ALAMGIR” to hold joint/passage exercises with Kuwait Navy

Pakistani Naval Ship, ALAMGIR will hold joint/passage exercises with Kuwait Navy during a good-will visit to Kuwait from July 02-06. Pakistan Naval Ships periodically undertake goodwill visits to the State of Kuwait which provide excellent opportunity to Pakistan Navy officials to interact with their counterparts at brotherly country Kuwait. It also helps in further improving the strong relations between the two countries, according to press released.The ship is named after Emperor Aurangzeb Alamgir who was the sixth Muslim ruler of Great Mughal Empire. He was born on 3rd November, 1618. Aurangzeb Alamgir retained the throne for almost 50 years. He spread the extent of Mughal Empire to the entire Indian Sub-continent.

PNS ALAMGIR was commissioned on 31 August 2010 at Mayport Florida USA. The ship has a tonnage of 4100 tons with overall length of 138.1 M. It is multi mission capable ship, fitted with potent weapon and sensor systems. The ship is capable of carrying two ASW Origin Helicopters.
The mission of the ship is to maintain the standards of professionalism and excellence which are a hallmark of Pakistan Navy.
The Commanding Officer of the ship, Captain Naveed Ashraf TI (M) T Bt. PN during the stay in Kuwait will pay courtesy calls on the dignitaries of Kuwait Navy.
A reception will be held onboard which would be attended by the high civil/military officials of the State of Kuwait, diplomats, notables besides representatives of the Pakistani community. APP
