ISLAMABAD: President Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q) has telephone
Quaid of MQM Altaf Hussain seeking 12-hour time for resolution of all
the issues including reconsideration of MQM decision to part ways with
the government.
According to reliable sources, in the
telephonic conversation both the leaders discussed a wide range of
issues including resignation of Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan,
MQM-PML-Q ties, MQM reservations and overall political situation of the
country.
According to sources, MQM leader Altaf Hussain briefed
the PML-Q President about the reasons that forced the MQM to take the
extreme decision. He told the senior politician that in the backdrop of
government’s undemocratic attitude MQM was left with no other option
but to quit the coalition government.
He however made it clear
that relations between PML-Q and MQM would remain friendly as and
cordial as ever. The sources said that MQM leader also asked Ch Shujaat
to join MQM. Ch Shujaat said no one could deny MQM’s importance in the
country’s political set up.
He said it did not seem appropriate
that PML-Q remained in the government while MQM should be out of it. .
He said the country was passing through critical situation and it was
our common job to strengthen the democratic system. According to the
sources, Ch Shujaat assured Altaf Hussain that he would try to seek
resolution of all the issues through dialogue in 12-hour time. Online
