Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) filed an application in Sindh High Court against the postponement of elections on three Kashmiri refugees’ seats and court accepted their plea for hearing.

Khokhar and Saleem Butt contended in the plea that entire elections
should be cancelled and postponed elections in LA 36 and LA 30 should
be held immediately.
The application is filed under the article 199 of the Constitution
and federal government, provincial governments and IG Sindh have been
made party in the party that they should explain the reason for
postponement of elections.
It is stated in the plea that law and order situation was the excuse
behind the postponement of elections and Chief Minister Sindh himself
stated in the assembly that law and order situation in Karachi is
satisfactory.
Applicant contended that court should order immediate holding of
elections on two seats in Karachi and should also order to suspend the
held elections in Kashmir and contended in the plea that elections was
postponed illegally.
Talking to media after filing the plea in Sindh High Court MQM
Deputy Parliamentary Leader in National Assembly Haider Abbas Rizvi
said that all parties showed dissatisfaction on the elections and these
should be cancelled and be held again, adding that they hoped that
court would order to cancel these elections and would order to hold
fresh elections.
He said that if government adopted illegal tactics to suppress MQM
than they also have other options and they cannot be suppressed easily
and postponement of election is illegal and unconstitutional.
He said that Pakistan People’s Party were demanding one seat at
every forum and they told PPP that this is not a way for the seat
adjustment and told that they would not give be given no seat and
according to democracy seat would belong to party, which will win in
the elections.
He said that they were told that if MQM would not agreed to give one
seat from Karachi to PPP then may elections be postponed, adding that
all parties showed dissatisfaction and alleged one another in Kashmir,
Punjab and Sindh for rigging in polls.
He said that MQM would contact other forums also against the
un-justice and hoped that court would announce its judgment in the
favor of MQM because of their legal and constitutional stance.
He said that Chief Election Commissioner Kashmir is biggest party in
the plea and government is included, adding that if power is used
against them then other options are also opened for them, adding that
the court might suspend the entire elections because of impartiality of
these elections.
Talking to media persons outside the court Barrister Farogh Naseem
said that they are hopeful that court would cancel the results of
elections and would order to hold again as they contended in the filed
