United States, Turkey, Japan, Britain have close ties with Pakistan

Karachi : Consul Generals of United States, Turkey, Japan and Britain in Karachi say their countries have "close and cordial" relations with Pakistan and extended fund and assistanceduring devastating floods in the country last year.

They were speaking at reception hosted by Coordinator PPP Foreign Liaison Committee Nafis Siddiqui at his residence on Wednesday evening in which he thanked the governments of US, Turkey, Japan and Britain on behalf of PPP government for their assistance in cash and kind for people affected by devastating floods last year in Pakistan.
US Consul General William J Martin spoke of ups and downs in relations with Pakistan adding "our object is similar to create a society free of terrorism and extremism." Japanese Consul General H Satosaid his country helped Pakistan during natural calamity last year and likewise spoke of Pakistan's help in the wake of recent earthquake and tsunami in Japan. Turkish Consul General said Turkey and Pakistan have special relationship and always helped it when needed and Pakistan also extended help toTurkey in hour of need.Nafis Siddiqui said Pakistani nation was fighting against terrorism and religious extremism as well asstrengthening democracy in the country by empowering all state institutions.PPI
