FATA Students demand reopening of close schools

Peshawar : FATA Students Federation (FSF) on Wednesday demanded of the government to reopen all the closed educational institutions and reconstruct destroyed schools forthwith. Speaking at a news conference at press club on Wednesday,
central president FSF Muhammad Haroon Afridisaid that every citizen of the country had the right to be imparted education adding that the studentshailing from Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) were also Pakistani citizens.  He said that they were already backward people and the educational ratio in the tribal belt was growing down day by day due to consecutive curfews and operation in their areas and closures of the schools and colleges. He said that the students of F.A, FSC were compelled to earn livelihood saying there were several reasons that on side all the educational instituteseither were closed or destroyed but on the other, business of tribal people was seriously affected due to which the youth were forced to feed their affected families instead of getting education in settle areas. He regretted that the city police arrested them just for the sake of bribe and on their refusal; they were arrested and put behind bars in fake cases. Hedemanded of the government to take action against the police attitude with the patriotic tribesmen.He said that they had been deprived of all kind facilities for sixty three years as were provided to the people settle areas. Keeping in mind these all injustice including deteriorating law and order situation in FATA, the FATA student feltformation of their federation aimed at raising their voice at high level. Criticizing the role of elected representatives from tribal belt, the students’president said MNAs didnothing for their people upto now who he added had ignored tribal people at the mercy of operations, curfews and drone attacks.  He, therefore, demanded of President Asif Ali Zardari to restore education system in tribal areas andestablish a university in FATA for the students.PSF Presidents of  different parts of FATA including Bajur, Mohmand South and North Waziristan, Khyberand Kuram agencies were present on the occasion.
