MQM set to rejoin cabinet, deal with PML-Q also finalized

ISLAMABAD : Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has given green signal to the PPP leadership for joining the federal cabinet; meanwhile the matters of the government have also been finalized with the leadership of the Pakistan Muslim League-Q for joining the federal cabinet.


According to the private TV channels in the fist phase MQM leader Dr Farooq Sattar would join the federal cabinet and in the second phase Senator Babar Khan Ghuari and Haider Abbass Rizvi would join the cabinet.

Meanwhile PML-Q has decided to join the federal cabinet and it would get eight ministries including four ministers and four state ministers.

The names of the ministers and state ministers have also been finalized, which include Mian Riaz Hussian Pirzada, Sheikh Waqqas Akram, Amir Muqam, Makhdoom Faisal Saleh Hayat, Sardar Ghaus Bux Mehar and Chuadhry Wajahgat Hussain; meanwhile Mushahid Hussain Syed would be appointed as advisor to PM on foreign affairs.

According to the sources the PML-Q would be given the post of senior minister; meanwhile the suggestion of offering deputy prime minister post to Chaudhry Pervez Elahi was rejected by the Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani.

On the other hand, leadership of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-F has refused to join the federal cabinet.

Talking to a private TV channel Faisal Saleh Hayat said that the consultation process to join the government is underway and final decision in this regard would be made in one week.

He said that the PML-Q is of the view that if MQM and JUI-F joins the government then it would be called national government.

According to the sources the Chaudhry’s of Gujrat intended to form government in Punjab after the next elections and are intended at reversal of cases registered against Moonis Elahi.

Commenting on the decision of PML-Q to join the federal cabinet Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Information Secretary Chaudhry Ahsan Iqbal said that his party is only party, which is plying the role of opposition, adding that a party which was called “Killer League” now has been included in the government by PPP leadership.

He said that PML-N would not become the part of any puppet show in the country, adding that the days of traditional politics has become past in the country as people dislike this.

He said that PML-N would take part in the next elections according to its manifesto and would win the elections. SANA
