ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani on Friday called on President Asif Ali Zardari here at the Presidency to discuss various issues, including the presidential reference filed in the Supreme Court to reopen the Zulfikar Ali Bhutto case. The president apprised the premier of his recent visit to Turkey. Prime Minister Gilani also took President Zardari into confidence about his visit to Afghanistan.

APP adds: Briefing the media about the meeting, Presidential Spokesman Farhatullah Babar said President Zardari, on the advice of Prime Minister Gilani, had approved the appointment of Senator Maula Bakhsh Chandio as the Federal Law Minister and Advocate Farooq Awan as an Adviser on Law. Senator Chandio will take oath today (Saturday).
Online adds: Former law minister Babar Awan called on President Asif Ali Zardari on Friday and briefed him about progress on hearing of the presidential reference seeking the reopening of the Zulfikar Ali Bhutto case.
Sources said President Zardari praised Babar Awan for resigning from his post as the law minister to plead the case of the PPP founder.
