PESHAWAR: Governor Barrister Masood Kausar has said that change in
FATA has taken off and the process would go on without any impediment.
“Implementation
on FCR reforms is being monitored and action would be taken against
those political officials who will in either way fail in its total
implementation”, he said while talking to a delegation of Pakistan
People’s Party FATA here at Governor’s House on Thursday.
He
warned that inefficiency and negligence at part of the political
administration in the implementation of FCR amendments would not be
tolerated.
The delegation, which was headed by MNA Akhunzada
Chatan and Malik Waris Khan Chairman PPP FATA expressed some
reservations over the implementation process as well as slow pace
development despite the allocation of huge resources for the purpose.
They also complained about the non-cooperative behavior of political
administration in streamlining political activities in some tribal
areas.
The Governor said that the government had introduced FATA
reform to give relief to the tribal populace against inhuman clauses of
FCR and would ensure that the people get the relief. Similarly he added
the extension of Political Parties Order to FATA was also aimed at
promoting democratic culture in FATA. “Now it is up to political parties
to avail the opportunity and organize their wings in FATA to promote
political activities and take part in the national politics”, he added.
The Governor informed the delegation that a high power committee
comprising elected representative and political figures would be
constituted to oversee the process of implementation of FATA reforms and
report directly to the Governor in case of any negligence and violation
in this regard. The delegation thanked the Governor for taking a keen
interest in bringing FATA to the main political stream and offered every
support.

also called on the Governor and discussed with him different matter
relating to his constituency.
Meanwhile talking to a
representative delegation of Muttahida Qabael Party, headed by its
chairman Malik Habib Orakzai, the Governor said that the govt. wished to
promote political process in tribal area and every political party will
be provided equal opportunity to work and deliver its message to FATA
people.
“The government’s policy with regard to political
activities in FATA is very clear as we want the tribal people to take
active part in politics”, the Governor said. He also responded
positively to some of the demands of the delegation and issue directives
to relevant department.
The delegation congratulated the
Governor for his efforts in bringing FATA to the main political stream
by allowing political parties to work in tribal areas and ensuring
dispensation of justice to FATA people through amendments in the FCR.
They
thanked the Governor for this historic achievement, which they said
would have never been possible without the goodwill of the government.
The delegation assured the Governor of its total support for peace,
stability and political process in FATA. Online
