RAWALPINDI: Residents of Gulshan-e- Zaheer and Gulshan-e-Paker have
voiced strong protest against laying of sub standard water pipelines in
the area and have called for stern action against the contractors for
this criminal negligence.
“Contract for laying water pipeline in
Gulshan-e-Zaheer was awarded for Rs 5000000 and for Gulshan-e- Paker
for Rs 4400000 to the contractors but the material has been used so sub
standard and faulty that the pipelines have started seeping soon after
their installation, said a group of residents of these areas.
As
to why the cantonment board administration is paying no heed to this
criminal negligence, questioned one Zammurd Khan a resident.
The
administration will come when to take action, said a student. They will
become active when the pipelines will burst and the whole area will
turn into pond, asked an ageing man.
