RAWALPINDI: With advent of chilly weather, rush at Landa bazars
(second hand clothes) have increased but rates of the items at these
bazaars have increased by 25 to 35 percent than last year.
Landa
bazaars have been set up in Raja bazaar, Jama masjid road, hospital
road, weekly bazaars, Saddar and other areas in the city. It was
observed that a large number of low-income people swarmed at the stalls
of second hand clothes and sweaters.
A second hand sweater is being sold at Rs 50 to Rs 300, while mufflers are being sold at Rs 20 to Rs 50.
The
visitors at these Landa bazaars complained about high rates of second
hand clothes and sweaters. It has become difficult for us to buy new
clothes because of higher prices, said a visitor.
