ISLAMABAD: Defence Minister Ch Ahmed Mukhtar had made it clear that
Pakistan was taking action against all terrorist organisations said
that we will not be intimidated by any threats.
“We are a
sovereign state, which cannot be threatened. If the US has any
information regarding the Haqqani network they should share it with
us”, Mukhtar said while talking exclusively to Online.
Emphasising
that friendship cannot be maintained on gunpoint, Mukhtar said Pakistan
has given enormous sacrifices in the war on terror as a result of this
war our economy is in shambles and we are facing many challenges on
home front.
In spite of this we are continuing with crackdown
on all terrorist organisations without providing any favour to any
terrorist outfit to ensure the complete elimination of terrorism from
our soil, he added.
Regarding abrupt visit of ISI chief Lt Gen
Ahmed Shuja Pasha to US, he said that the ISI chief went there to
attend a routine meeting. In response to a query regarding conditional
aid by the US, Ahmed Mukhtar said Pakistan was carrying out its
responsibilities in an amicable way with its limited resources. “We are
a sovereign nation and would not accept dictates or pressures of any
