KARACHI: Keeping in mind, perhaps, PM Gilani’s encounters with fake
relief camps last year, Army Chief Gen Ashfaq Kayani probed
authenticity of a camp by asking a victim kid, “Are you here,
perforce?”.
The interesting situation was caught by a live
video coverage and later aired by a private TV channel when Gen Kayani
visited a flood relief camp in Sanghar set up by the OPF College.
According
to independent observers the army chief exhibited professional
expertise in preferring a kid over the adults to inquire about the
authenticity of the army’s set up for the flood affected people in
interior Sindh.
Going by the universal understanding that the
kids have least probability of lying even under pressure as compared to
the adults, the army chief went directly to the innocent child and
asked the question, “Did somebody bring you here by force?” “No, sir”
