ISLAMABAD: Dr Zafar Qadir Chairman National Disaster Management
Authority (NDMA) has said over 4 million people have been affected in
floods and about 88 casualties have taken place due to flash floods.
He
said this while talking to media men here Sunday. He told over 150000
flood affectees are living in relief camps at Sindh. The areas of
Benazir Abad, Badin and Mir Pur Khas are the worst affected areas and
80 percent crops have been destroyed during the floods, he pointed out.
It could take one to two months to dry up flood water while the
relief teams are facing difficulties in reaching the affected areas due
to destruction of transport network, he told.
No assistance has been or will be sought from any country for flood affectees, he said. Online
