Forces regain control of posts in Mohmand

MOHMAND AGENCY: In the recent operation against militants, security forces on Sunday regained control of two important check posts during the last two days.

According to details, in the on-going operation against the militant elements, the security forces in Mohmand Agency took control of two key check posts while the movement of the local persons from the conflict region is underway. According to an official report, the security forces moved towards the militants’ hideouts from all directions and in the exchange of fire one militant, a security personnel and a civilian were killed while three civilians and three security personnel were injured in the action.
According to sources during the forces’ onward march dead bodies of two militants have been found. The dead body of a local of the area Gul Mohammad has also been found out but the reason for his death is no known. During the operation 85 landmines were found which were later made ineffective. Three security personnel were also injured in a landmine blast. Those injured in the operation were provided emergency medical aid and relief measures by the local administration, UNHCR and UNICEF are underway. Online
