PPP Senior Leader Senator Mian Raza Rabbani has shown serious concerns over the
restoration of local government system of former
President Pervez Musharraf and reservations regarding party policy for the
creation of new provinces in the country.
Mian Raza Rabbani written a letter to Co-Chairman of PPP President Asif Ali
Zardari; meanwhile the copy of the letter has also been sent to party Secretary
General of PPP Jehangir Badar.
According to the sources Mian Raza Rabbani in a letter has strongly
criticized party and government on the reinforcement of LG system in Sindh and
situation of Sindh province.
He said that due to the wrong strategy the government and party are being
defamed in the eyes of masses, adding that at one point the provincial assembly
passes resolution to abolish the LG system and at another point the ordinance is
issued to abolish commissionerate system in the province.
He said that due to these decisions the masses have strong feelings of
resentment; meanwhile Raza Rabbani also showed reservations regarding the
creation of specific province in specific province, adding that this could
create problems for the party.
He said that the amendment in the constitution is necessary for the creation
of new provinces in the country, adding that after the passage of 18th
Constitutional amendment the powers of the provinces have been increased, adding
that without the consent of the provinces no new province could be created. SANA
