LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that he will not stop his crusade in exposing the corruption of leadership of Peoples Party having been afraid of threats. He said that life and death vest in the hand of Almighty Allah and he will continue to raise his voice against plundering even at the cost of his life.
He said that our life and property is trust of the country and not only one but many lives can be sacrificed for ridding of “Ali Baba 40 thieves”. He challenged that he might not be called Shahbaz Sharif if he failed to provide justice and recover the plundered money from these thieves and spend it on the welfare of the masses.
He was addressing a big public meeting on the occasion of inaugural of flyover at Bahawalpur today. Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that we are ready to set up new provinces but these should be established on the basis of Pakistan and not only Punjab. He urged that a commission comprising of political elites of the four provinces should be constituted for setting up new provinces, which should formulate its recommendations by considering the distribution of resources. He said that the rulers of the past who belonged to Multan, Bahawalpur and Dera Ghazi Khan remained President, Prime Minister and enjoyed other important offices did nothing for these areas but today they are shedding the tears of crocodile for southern Punjab and Bahawalpur.
He said that not only one but 10 provinces should be established on the administrative and Pakistan’s basis. He said that thieves and looters have been gathered in Islamabad who have pushed the country into darkness. How would they set up province for them, he questioned. Shahbaz Sharif said that resources of the country are being looted and by holding the holy month of Ramzan witness, said that Zardari is transferring by looting the money of the poor people of the country to Switzerland. He said that the accused of NICL case is being protected. He said that instead of obeying the orders of Supreme Court, these are being violated. How they would set up a province, rather Nawaz Sharif will establish the province, he added. He said that the people of Pakistan are being looted. Thieves and dacoits are usurping right of the masses and they are trying to deceive the people of Saraiki and Bahawalpur but we will not allow them to do so.
He said that 400 megawatt power project of Nandipur in Punjab is pending in Islamabad for one and a half years. Had this project been completed then not only energy would have been generated but jobs could be provided to thousands of people, he added. He said that machinery worth millions of rupees is lying in godowns of Karachi for bribe and extortion of money upon which demurrage worth crores of rupees is being paid. He said that 3-4 days ago he has informed the Prime Minister during the meeting that national resources are being looted ruthlessly.
