Nationalist parties in Sindh observed strike in whole Sindh against the
restoration of local government system on Sunday;
meanwhile in the result of ongoing target killing incidents at least eight
persons lost their lives.
The shutter-down strike was observed in different cities of the province;
moreover, at least eight people were lost their lives in violent incidents in
Karachi that began on the eve of the strike.
17 vehicles were also burnt down in arson attacks across the city’s
districts.
The strike call had been given on Tuesday by the nationalist parties of the
province, in protest against restoration of the 2001 Local Government Ordinance
and withdrawal of the commissioner system.
The situation of Sukkhur and Hyderabad was also not peaceful; meanwhile the
police conducted search operation in the sadder area of Karachi and arrested 50
persons for breaching law.
According to sources the violence began on the evening of Friday, during
which six vehicles had been burnt resulting in death of a person and injury of
several others, meanwhile at least five people killed and several others injured
in the attacks of hand grenades.
A passenger bus was burnt down in the tower area of Karachi resulting in
death of one person and several others injured as fire caught the bus.
The Interior Ministry of Sindh suspended the SHO’s of Aziz Bhatti and Steel
Town police station due to incidents of burning of vehicles; meanwhile two
persons were arrested on the burning of buses.
Shops were closed in Defense, Khadda market and Zamzama due to firing by
unidentified gunmen.
Dead bodies of two persons found in a car at Pak Colony near Shah Nawaz
Bhutto Chowk, meanwhile at least two persons killed an three others injured
during a hand grenade attack in Bangash Hotel North Nazimabad.
