JI greets nation on Independence Day, promises bright future

The Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Syed Munawar Hasan while congratulating the nation on the 64th Independence Day has said that the prevailing night of tyranny in the country would end soon.

In his message on the occasion, Syed Munawar Hasan said that the 64th Independence Day had dawned at a time when the country’s independence and sovereignty had been mortgaged to the US, innocent people were being gunned down in Karachi, the Baluchistan province was facing an uprising, load shedding, price spiral and unemployment had made the lives of the people a hell, corruption was the order of the day, US drones were killing dozens of innocent Pakistanis, the rulers were demonstrating extreme cowardice and were busy in horse trading to save their skin, and the worst form of dictatorship had been thrust on the country under the garb of democracy, In spite of all that, he said, there was no room for despondency. The prevailing night of gloom would end and the morning of true independence would emerge soon.
Stating that the JI had high hopes and ambitions, Syed Munawar Hasan appealed to the nation to support the honest and patriotic and capable leadership of the JI in the next elections to dislodge corrupt, dishonest and slavish politicians.
The JI Secretary General, Liaquat Baloch, in his message, said that the country was facing a series of crises. The rulers had mortgaged the country’s honour and solidarity with the US and international financial institutions. The foreign and domestic and economic policies of the country were being framed by the foreign powers. The tales of corruption and commissions of the rulers were the talk of the town while the masses had to suffer due to load shedding, price hike and unemployment. Washington was issuing decrees for this country thinking it as their 53rd state. Under the conditions, the people should rally round the JI’s honest and competent leadership for steering the country out of the present mess. SANA
