Women parliamentarians must create awareness to contribute in national development: PM Gilani

Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has urged the women parliamentarians to work for creating awareness among the female population of the country and motivate them to contribute according to their capacities as they constitute the major portion of the population.

This he said while talking to Ms. Mehreen Anwar Raja, MNA and Mr. Khanzada Khan, MNA who called on him at PM’s House here on Friday.
Mentioning about the government’s consistent efforts for the empowerment and financial support to the women, the Prime Minister expressed satisfaction that the programmes are moving with success and has won international acclaim. He said that “Rozgar” schemes introduced through the BISP has also been appreciated by the International Community and foreign partners are taking keen interest for further enhancing its net to cover more population. He added that prominent leadership role of the females has been catered for in all these programmes.
The Parliamentarians briefed the Prime Minister about various ongoing development projects in their respective areas. They appreciated the Prime Minister’s magnanimous policy of equal allocation of development funds to the Parliamentarians irrespective of their party affiliations.
The Prime Minister observed that the experience of equal allocation of development funds to all Parliamentarians has been a success story which truly empowered the Parliament. He said that a new trend has been introduced the democratic history of the country. SANA
