Violence after Zulfiqar Mirza statement claim 19 lives in Sindh

At least 18 persons were killed and 0ver 40 others injured and more than 40 vehicles were burnt down in the violence that erupted overnight in Karachi, Hyderabad and other parts of Sindh after the statement of senior provincial minister Zulfiqar Mirza against the MQM chief.
The killed persons include a rangers personal Iqbal who was killed in Gulshane-Iqbal Maskane-e-Chorangi in the result of the firing of unidentified gunmen.
At least one person was killed and 10 others were injured in Hyderabad in the result of the violent incidents erupted after Mirza statement; meanwhile the district observed complete strike on Thursday on the call of the MQM.
Shops and business centers in Mirpur Khas, Sukhur and other big cities were also remained close and people carried out rallies against Zulfiqar Mirza and ANP provincial president Shahi Syed.
A woman and two police cops also include in the killed persons, from which one was killed in the result of the firing of the unidentified persons on the police mobile in Malir area of the city and other was killed in the result of the firing of unidentified gunmen in Jamia Malia area of the city when he was trying to remove the burning tyre from the road.
Over 40 vehicles were burnt down by the violent crowds in various areas of the city, including buses, trucks, rickshaws and texis; meanwhile 10 buses were burnt down by the unidentified persons at the Sakhi Hassan bus stop; meanwhile three other vehicles were burnt down in Korangi area of the city.
Interior Minister Sindh Manzoor Hussain Wassan said that 14 persons were killed and 25 others were injured in the latest incidents of violence in the city, adding that 161 suspected persons involved in the violent incidents were also arrested.
Meanwhile many shops were also burnt down in various areas of the city during the violent protest of MQM.
On the other hand, the Federal Urdu University and other institutions suspended all the examinations scheduled to be held on Thursday and new dates would be announced later on.
Due to the strike of the MQM the petrol pumps, CNG stations, hotels and shops remained close on Thursday.
Meanwhile the transporters announced to not ply the transport on Thursday due to non-provision of security to them.
The city was presenting the situation of curfew; meanwhile the traders association also announced to close down the business on Thursday.
The flag march of the rangers continued on the roads of the city the whole day; meanwhile the incidents of shooting were occurred in Nazim Abad, Golimar, Liaquatabad, Shah Faisal Colony, Federal B Area, Abual Hassan Asfahani Raod, Incholi Society, Haji Camp, Tariq Road, I, I, Chandrigarh Road, Malir, Baldia Town, Orangi Town, Nazimabad, Korangi, Landhi, Golimar, Abul Hassan, Mosamiyat Chowrangi, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Rizvia, New Karachi, Old Sabzi Mandi, Saddar, Empress Market, Nagan Chowrangi, Sakhi Hassan, Lalukhet, Gulbahar and Hussainabad areas of the city, where many person were killed in the result of the firing of the unidentified gunmen.
A woman was killed in Hussain Abad area of the city in the result of the unknown persons; meanwhile the injured were shifted in civil and private hospitals of the city.
MQM workers also burnt the effigies of Dr Zulfiqar Mirza and ANP leader Shahi Syed.
Later on, on the request of MQM Chief Altaf Hussain the protesting people started going homes and life started returning towards normalcy.
Altaf Hussain in his statement said that the workers should go in homes as they have registered their protest.
Meanwhile Interior Minister Rehman Malik welcomed the statement of the MQM chief, in which he asked his workers to end the protest. SANA
