KARACHI: Thousands of citizens of Karachi Metropolis tried/ are
trying to stage a long march towards the residence of former Provincial
home minister, Zulfiqar Mirza.
After the publicly aired
statement of former home minister, in a dinner reception hosted by
ANP’s Shahi Syed, the Mohajjar Rabta Council (MRC) has issued an
ultimatum to both Zulfiqar Ali Mirza and Shahi Syed to leave Karachi
limits within 48 hours, otherwise the protests would carry on.
Thousands
of protestor congregated at Clifton’s Submarine Chowrangi in order to
start a long march towards the residence of Zulfiqar Mirza, over his
recent inflammatory statements, which have been declared as an insult
to Pakistan.
Police has started placing barricades on the route
of the march, as Mohajjar Rabta Council demands an immediate apology to
MQM head Altaf Hussain from Zulfiqar Mirza, strongly discarding the
irrelevant apology of federal Interior minister Rehman Malik in this
regard.
In its statement the MRC has also fully implicated PPPP
in the entire affair, and has demanded of President Asif Ali Zardari to
remove Zulfiqar Mirza from his post immediately. Online
