KARACHI: The Korangi Industrial Area (KIA) has suffered production
and monetary losses to the tune of RS.2 billion in the two days strife
going on in Karachi, Chairman, Korangi Association of Trade and
Industry said on Thursday.

In-chief, KATI, S M Muneer and former Chairman, Mian Zahid Husain have
appealed the politicians to show resilience and sit together to resolve
the issues amicably so that economy should not suffer.
They
said that due to massive losses, the industries were unable to meet the
export orders and frequent closure of industry may result in permanent
shut down of many units. They said that government should formulate
code of conduct so that mud-slinging on each other may not be repeated
in future.
They appealed to the government to seriously take up
the issues and prevent lawlessness and restore peace in the financial
capital of the country otherwise economy of the entire country would be
