Federal Minister for Interior, Senator A.Rehman Malik has ordered a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to probe into the theft of 5634 passports from the office of Karachi Travel Agents Association and also to look into the security aspects and involvement of the concerned staff who was the custodian of the passports.The Minister for Interior has also ordered to investigate under what authority so many passports were kept in the premises without proper security.The passports may go in the hands of the terrorists.
The Minister for Interior has further ordered Director General Immigration and Passports for cancellation of all those passports and asked for a compliance report in 24 hours.
He has also directed Chairman to facilitate the victims of this theft on urgent basis. APP
