Pakistan Army chief General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani has said that every soldier of the military is ready to defend the country, and that they will defeat terrorists with the support of the masses.
Addressing the fifth annual conference of Subedar Majors held at the General Headquarters, Kayani said that the Pakistan Army was one of the best armies in the world.
The people of Pakistan would not hesitate to render any sacrifice for the sake of the country and for eliminating militancy, he added.
"The Pakistan Army is fully aware of internal and external threats faced by the country. In the war against terrorism, our officers, and soldiers have made great sacrifices and have achieved tremendous successes," The News quoted Kayani, as saying.
He said that the sacrifices rendered by the Pakistani Army in the war against terrorism were unforgettable. "With the support of the masses, we will defeat the terrorists," he added.
According to military sources, Kayani said that the army leadership was making gigantic efforts for the welfare of Jawans and their children's education. (ANI)
