ISLAMABAD: Military operation in FATA would not produce required results. The government should find the solutions of all the problems through negotiation with tribal notables by keeping aside the policy of using power.
This was said by the Munir Khan Orakzai, MNA from FATA, while taking part in the debate of National Assembly here on Thursday. He said that the people of FATA are much patriotic. The tribal population comprising of six million people is facing atrocities since one decade but they never raised any voice against it.
“Whenever something happens in Karachi , Interior Minister Rehman Malik goes there immediately but drone attacks are being conducted in FATA on daily basis but government is not taking any steps to prevent these assaults. “We want that FATA may be brought to main streamline” , he added.
MNA from PPP Ijaz Jhakrani that the nation should learn the lessons from the past mistakes but it seems that PML(N) did not get any thing from the bitter experience of the past and they are taking the country to the confrontation again . He said that PPP gave an balanced budget for the poor people despite the poor conditions in which no new tax was imposed.
Mufti Ajmal from JUI(F) said that the situation could not be changed without flushing out the corruption from the country. He said that Pakistan is fighting another country’s battle in which innocent people are being killed.
Tasneem Siddiqi from PML(N) said that the country is running under the policies of IMF. The government utilized trillion of rupees on Rental Power Projects and took the kickbacks of billion rupees . He demanded that the theft of electricity and gas should be prevented.
Bushra Gohar form ANP said that the factors of militancy and external interference are increasing day by day. She said that the country has increased the defence budget but reduced the funding for law enforcement agencies. She condemned Punjab government to allocate token budget for the construction of Kala Bagh Dam. “If government would has been taken timely decision , there was no need for journalists to stage sit-in.
Sajid Ahmed Khan from MQM said that the budget was not the ideal one for the people . The government ignored agriculture sector completely .
