Judges not to be allowed to be hijacked: Asma Jahangir

ISLAMABAD: President Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) Asma Jahangir has said judges will not be allowed to be hijacked.
SCBA president said this while talking to a private TV channel here Thursday.
She alleged government had used shoulders of journalists to make the notification of Justice Javed Iqbal effective.
Government had neither consulted Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) nor had it asked from Justice Saqib Nisar, she underlined. No notification could be issued without the consent of the respective judge, she added. Government should demonstrate sincerity , she urged.
The opinion was sought from chief justice before commission in Murtaza Bhutto murder case was constituted, she held. Online
