Karachi: Pakistan Peoples Party has collected some 22,000 bags of
blood from entire Sindh on special blood banks established on the
occasion of the birthday of Benazir Bhutto.
President of
Peoples Doctor Forum Sindh Dr Karim Khawaja told the journalists that
blood banks were set up in all the districts of Sindh province from 21
June to 23 June to mark the 58th birthday of PPP’s former chairperson
and slain leader Benazir Bhutto in which leaders, workers and people
from different walks of life donated blood.
He said that last
year PPP gathered approximately 13800 bottles but this year the
collection was much higher. He said that on the instructions of
President Asif Zardari the blood camps are arranged throughout the
country on 21 June, birthday of BB. “The blood collected is given to
those Pak army officials, which receive injuries during the fight
