FIA files cases against more than 20 human traffickers, deportees

ISLAMABAD: Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has registered cases against more than 20 accused, who were deported from Greek and Turkey and involved in human trafficking.

At least 37 Pakistanis went to Turkey and Greek illegally through Quetta and Gawadar while after investigation they deported to Pakistan on Saturday and landed at Islamabad International Airport by Flight No. 771. However, as soon they arrived at the Airport, the FIA Officials arrested them and started investigation.
As per the preliminary inquiry, the FIA Officials registered cases against more than 20 accused, who were involved in human trafficking.
While all the deportees upon investigation told FIA Officials that they have been taken to abroad through illegal agents by hood-winking of employment. They said that first we were taken to Iran by crossing border illegally from Quetta and Gawadar, and then in Turkey where the Officials of the respective country arrested us, and later deported to Pakistan.
By taking action under the statement of the Deportees, Deputy Director FIA Passport Circle Islamabad Shahzad Haider has directed to take strict action against the accused agents, while the FIA Officials have filed cases against the agents and all other persons including Tahir Muhammad Khan, Abid Mehar, Muhammad Sajjad, Sajjad Haider and others, who are involved in human trafficking and other illegal activities.
