Police recover 8 bodies in Attock

ATTOCK: The bodies of eight unidentified persons were recovered on Sunday morning from a deserted well in the China Chowk area of Haji Shah Road, eight kilometres from Attock, police said. The postmortem has revealed the victims were strangled to death.

Attock DPO Akhtar Abbas told The News the victims might have been killed because of personal enmity and confirmed the bodies were four days old. Abbas said all the eight deceased remained unidentified since they were not local residents. He said no missing persons’ report had been registered in any police station of the area.

After the discovery, the bodies were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital for postmortem, which was completed in eight hours, the MS of District Headquarter Hospital, Attock, Dr Khalid Mehmood, revealed. He confirmed the victims were strangled to death.

APP adds: The police were informed by telephone about the bodies of the eight deceased, aged between 22 to 32 years, by a resident of the area. The police then recovered the bodies and shifted them to the DHQ Hospital for postmortem. All the deceased were bearded.
